The outboard position of rotor bearings allows atmospheric venting between the compression chamber and the bearings and gears. This prevents gear and bearing lubricants from contaminating the compression chamber and the air or gas.

This offers a small, low cost replacement to the separate solid state sequencer and pressure gauge combination most often used in on-demand pulse jet cleaning systems. These controllers will sense the pressure difference across the filters of a bag house and initiate a cleaning cycle when the filters start to impede the air flow. When the pressure drops to normal the controller will stop cycling.
It also incorporates three 4-20 mA current loop inputs, three contact closure type inputs, and one type J thermocouple input. In addition, the IO board provides 16K bytes of non-volatile memory for the storage of up to one year of input trending data. The IO board requires either a T2310 or T2320 Timer to program and operate the board and a T2300 Display Panel to access data trending reports. The IO board offers significant versatility to the Intelligent Dust Collector Controller system. It can monitor, display, alert, and store dust collector system parameters from pressure sensors, emission monitors, plenum air flow sensors, broken bag detectors, fan motor current sensors and any other device which has a 4-20 mA current output or contact closure output. The unit works in conjunction with the T2310 and T2320 Timers and also with the DNC-T2300-DSP Display Panel.
In Continuous Mode, the pressure switch terminals are shorted. Upon application of output voltage, the control activates output #1 after the preset off time. It will continue to activate outputs sequentially until input voltage is removed. In On Demand Mode, the pressure switch terminals are connected to an isolated set of contacts of a differential pressure switch. The control will activate the outputs sequentially whenever the pressure switch contacts are closed. When the pressure switch contacts open, the output sequencing stops. Re-closing of the contacts will cause the control to resume activating the outputs. Program wire allows the user to select the maximum number of outputs to be activated.

A fabric filter bag is not intended to be a filter, but rather a porous surface on which to develop a dust cake. The developed dust cake becomes the actual filter. When a baghouse has had a new fabric filter bag changeout and is placed back into service, airflow through the baghouse is at its greatest volume and velocity. The initial onrush of dust and airflow through the baghouse and new filter bags are at such volumes and velocity that the dust particulate can penetrate the fabric filter surfaces instead of forming a dust cake on the surfaces, and, thereby, partially “blind” the new fabric filters. This partial “blinding” resists airflow, slowing down the velocity and allowing the dust to begin developing a dust cake on the fabric surfaces. But, by the time the fabric is starting to develop the proper dust cake, partial blinding of the fabric surfaces has decreased the potential airflow through the baghouse and, in most cases, remains in this condition until a changeout of new fabric filters occurs.
