Multi-line and progressive systems constantly operate as long as lubricant is fed by the pump. For systems that have more than one lubrication point within a relatively short distance, a pure multi-line system is not economical. Additionally, pure multi-line systems are not easily monitored. As a result, progressive systems or combined progressivemulti-line systems often provide the best solution. Despite new types of material and advanced technology, many chains still require lubrication. Optimum lubrication reduces friction and subsequent wear on chains. In a Quicklub system, lubricant can be supplied either manually, with a grease gun, or through a fully automated system using electric or pneumatic pumps and progressive metering valves. More than a drilled manifold block, the SSV metering valve incorporates a series of metering pistons, which accurately dispense lubricant from each outlet.
