Pacific Sentry's Small Animal Ammonia Sensor conveniently monitors and detects ammonia in animal habitats on a continuous basis. Simply attach the sensor to the inside of the cagehabitat at ground level and relatively close to where the animal spends the majority of its time (for multi-level cages it is recommended to have a sensor for each level). Easily observe the sensor to ensure safe ammonia levels are maintained. Sensor reaction time is approximately 1-2 hours for increasing levels of ammonia and 4-8 hours for decreasing levels of ammonia. When taken out of the protective cartridge, reaction time is reduced to 15 minutes and 2 hours, respectively. Invest in your pets safety and have happier, healthier animals. There is no way to effectively eliminate ammonia; however, there is now a way to effectively monitor and control it. Pacific Sentrys CAFO Ammonia Sensor conveniently provides a 3-hour time-weighted average of ammonia levels on a continuous basis. The visual sensor changes color (from golden yellow to blue) depending on the ammonia concentration in the surrounding environment. With a quick glance of the sensor, average ammonia levels can be easily determined. Whether you operate as a large-scale poultry broiler or small family-owned farm, this sensor will give you the ability to monitor your ammonia levels on a continuous basis. No longer rely on infrequent sampling with passive dosimeter tubes, gas detection tubes, electronic ammonia meters or the infamous "smell test". The CAFO Ammonia Sensor will provide the information you need to easily determine if your poultry house, cattle farm or swine operation is functioning optimally and ammonia levels are being maintained to a minimum.

Designed to detect ammonia levels ranging from 1ppm (30 times below the point at which ammonia can be smelled) to 5+ ppm, this sensor will consistently provide the protection needed to ensure a safe, ammonia-free environment. It is constructed with a state-of-the-art, colored membrane, which changes from a canary-yellow to a deep-blue color in the presence of ammonia. Because the ammonia diffuses into and through the membrane, it does not physically change the membrane, allowing the sensor to be used repeatedly. Note - reversion to its baseline color (canary-yellow) can take an unspecified amount of time depending on conditions (e.g. variables such as the concentration and duration of ammonia exposure, air circulation, temperature).
