PIN ROLL SPROCKETS

The next time you're implementing a positive drive conveying system for light to medium duty, consider the use of a Pin Roll or Sprockets with a Penn Wire Balanced Weave Belt. This combination provides absolute tracking, minimizes edge damage and assures long belt life.

This positive drive system can be used to synchronize conveyors as well as provide close transfers of work from one belt to another. Application possibilities are numerous in baking, food processing, canning and other industries.

Pin Rolls and Sprockets
Positive Drive Pin Rolls and Sprockets are precisely machined drive components that are circumferentially surfaced with rows of teeth. The teeth are accurately positioned to engage with the mesh of precision balanced weave belting across full belt width. This unique multi-point engagement fully controls tracking at all belt speeds and, in many applications, eliminates the need for counterweight. We recommend our Precision machined spacers be used with our sprockets to eliminate belt sag.

Precision Balanced Weave Belting
sprocket1This belting is called "balanced" because its spirals alternate and balance each other. One spiral turns to the right, the other to the left. The spirals do not interconnect with each other. They are looped around crimped connecting rods. As a result, Penn Wire's Balanced Weave Belting will not creep to one side or the other. It runs straight and true. a performance feature that makes it ideal for numerous applications.

Because the spirals hinge upon crimped connecting rods and do not interconnect, this belting is extremely flexible. It can be used with dead plate ends where close transfer of work from belt to belt is desired.

Double Balanced Weave Belts

A fabric consisting of pairs of interlaced right and left hand spirals joined by a crimped or straight rod connector in a manner so that the pairs of spirals are interspaced by the adjacent spirals. This construction provides greater strength and larger clear openings than the balanced weave design. It is excellent for drying, washing, chemical treating and high temperature applications.

Most effective opening for air circulation and liquid drainage.
Will operate under extremely high stresses with little contraction in width or longitudinal stretch.

Flat Wire Belting

  • Sizes Available 1/2 x 1, 1 x 1, 1/2 x 1/2 true, 1/2 x 1 modified, 3/4 x 1.
The flat wire belt is a continuous assembly of flat wire pickets connected by straight round wire inserted through positioned holes. It has a smooth carrying surface which makes it popular in the canning and food processing industries, as well as the drying, freezing, washing, and parts transfer processes.

Advantages:

Smooth flat surface.
Positive sprocket drive.
Easy replacement of damaged or worn sections.
Open mesh for easy drainage, airflow, and cleaning.
Economical versus woven wire belts.
Mesh Sizes Available:
Standard Duty: 12 x 1, 1 x 1, 12 x 12 true, 12 x 1 modified, 34 x 1.
Heavy Duty: 12 x 1, 1 x 1, 12 x 1 modified.
Materials available: Galvanized, High Carbon Steel, 304ss, and 316ss.

Sprockets available for both standard and heavy duty belting in cast iron, stainless steel, and plastic UHMW materials.

* Also available are flangeless sprockets in c-1045 hardened steel.
