Plastic Component

We are leaders in the market for providing best range of Extruded Nylon, MARINE GRADE POLYOLEFIN and Polytetrafluoroethylene

Extruded Nylon

  • Diameters .125″ – 4.0″
EXTRUDED NYLONBecause of its physical properties and reasonable cost, nylon is one of the most common general-purpose products in the engineering plastics family. Nylons toughness, resistance to wear and tensile strength make it ideal for a wide variety of machined parts. Nylon is also light in weight - 17th the weight of bronze. Nylon also exhibits a low coefficient of friction and it is chemically and thermally resistant. This versatile combination of properties makes extruded nylon a preferred material in self-lubricating or slide-type applications. Excellent machinability makes this product a great solution for a variety of applications in the automotive, food processing, fluid handling, electronics, and mining industries. Nylon 101 is FDA, USDA, NSF and 3-A Dairy compliant. Extruded nylon is available from Piedmont Plastics in nylon 66 rod and sheet in a natural light tan color. The most common size range for extruded nylon 66 is .125 4.0 diameter rod, and .125 4.0 thick sheet.

MARINE GRADE POLYOLEFIN

MARINE GRADE POLYOLEFINMarine Grade Polyolefins are known for their ability to resist rotting, swelling, splintering, discoloring or delaminating when exposed to humidity, water, or the sun. Marine grade polyolefins offer superior flexibility and toughness to the marine market, and often last longer than teak and other common marine materials. Marine grade polyolefins offer consistent thicknesses, color and are UV stabilized to resist degradation by direct sunlight. Marine grade polyolefins are easily machined and can be mechanically fastened with screw retention. Marine grade polyolefins are not limited to ship and boat components, but can also be utilized in outdoor equipment, the food industry and outdoor cabinetry. Piedmont has a dedicated marine sales division and stocks a multitude of marine grade products in a variety of colors and gauges for all your marine applications.

Polytetrafluoroethylene

PTFE (POLYTETRAFLUOROETHYLENE)Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), generally referred to as Teflon (a registered trademark of DuPont), is a synthetic, nontoxic, fluorocarbon-based polymer that is widely used in many applications. PTFEs low coefficient of friction, excellent electrical properties, high chemical resistance, and stability in wide temperature ranges make it a choice material for electrical and thermal applications like coil separators and terminals, as well as high-temperature seals, insulators, and bearings. Virgin PTFE is made from pure PTFE resin with no added recycled material. Virgin PTFE is extremely chemical resistant, serves as an electrical insulator, and retains flexibility in low temperatures. Virgin PTFE is FDA approved and is often used in food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic applications. Mechanical PTFE is made with reprocessed PTFE resin. While mechanical grade PTFE has slightly lower physical properties than virgin PTFE, this grade has an extremely low coefficient of friction and can operate in extreme temperatures, making it an excellent material for high-performance parts and non-critical chemical, mechanical, and electrical components. Mechanical PTFE can be filled with various materials to improve its properties. Depending on the filler used, filled PTFE can have enhanced deformation, wear, compressive, thermal, and electrical properties. Piedmont Plastics offers a wide variety of PTFE materials including Teflon. Piedmont offers virgin and filled mechanical PTFE sheets, rods, and tubes in various sizes and thicknesses.
