Grumman’s AA5 series airframes are undoubtedly among the sportiest looking and handling aircraft in GA’s line-up. Unfortunately though, the stock exhaust system Grumman originally installed on the airframe’s rock solid Lycoming O-320 engine leaves these otherwise fine aircraft (and their ownerspilots) struggling to keep up appearances!

 Power Flow offers you the perfect, cost-effective solution to this problem: Our “Bolt-On Horsepower” Tuned Exhaust System adds an immediate 10 - 15 Horsepower to the O-320’s output by virtually eliminating the loss caused by the restrictive design of the aircraft’s stock exhaust system. 

Here’s what you can realistically expect from that extra horsepower: An increase of 30 – 130 rpm in static thrust A take-off roll that is 100’ to 300’ shorter An improvement in the aircraft’s rate of climb by 100 – 150 fpm CHT’s that are 15O – 30O cooler across the board. Power Flow Systems, Inc. has been hard at work developing a potential exhaust system for the Beechcraft Bonanza. This will be our first six cylinder exhaust system, so all existing PFS exhaust designs would not come close to fitting. It requires a "clean-sheet" design to fit inside the cowling while accommodating the necessary length for increased performance. PFS is happy to announce that we have designed an exhaust that meets all of our design parameters and delivers substantial improvements in the performance of the Beech Bonanza. At this point, all of our developmental testing has been done on only one aircraft, our A36, N9066S with an IO-520 engine. The exhaust and certification are planned for Bonanzas configured with the IO-520 engine first, with the IO-470 and IO-550 engines to follow. Based on over 3700 Power Flow equipped aircraft flying today, we feel that the performance we are seeing should represent "the average" aircraft. As is normally the case, some aircraft will respond even better to the tuned exhaust, while some may not respond quite as well. Due to the unique design, we do not want to fully commit to the high cost of FAA certification and production tooling of the exhaust unless a significant number of Bonanza owners will commit to the purchase of the exhaust.

The original 177 is undoubtedly one of the sportiest looking aircraft in Cessna’s 100 series line-up. Unfortunately though, the O-320 engine originally installed in the earlier models leaves these otherwise fine aircraft struggling to keep up appearances!

nstalling a Power Flow tuned exhaust provides the same performance benefits as upgrading to a Beta II, at a fraction of the cost. It is true bolt-on horsepower for your O-320 powered Robinson R22 Alpha or Beta. You simply remove your old, restrictive factory exhaust system and bolt-on a Power Flow for instant results you can see, feel, and hear. You then operate your helicopter to the Beta II engine performance limitations. The same technology that has been used in race cars, motorcycles, and over 4, 300 certified aircraft currently equipped with Power Flow’s Tuned Exhaust System is now available for your O-320 powered R22 helicopter. Tuned Exhaust System is designed to use the exhaust gases from each cylinder to help empty the other cylinders, rather than having those exhaust pulses interfere with each other. The factory exhaust system is a very simple design with two exhaust headers entering a central muffler chamber from each side with no separation of the exhaust pulses. The pulses enter the chamber with no particular path to follow. Some leave through the tailpipe, some stay in the muffler (creating back pressure) and some even go back up the other header pipes causing further back pressure. Our system specifically times each exhaust pulse to create a low pressure (suction) at the cylinder’s exhaust valve when the valve is ready to open. This empties the cylinder more completely allowing for more power to be generated. The exhaust gases then exit the tailpipe without interference from the other cylinders.

McReery Aviation of McAllen, TX, (a well known and well respected Aviat Dealer), Power Flow Systems, Inc. has developed a new Tuned Exhaust System for the Aviat Husky. This exhaust system is FAA approved by STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) for all A1, A1A, A1B and A1C-180 models powered by Lycoming O-360 engines. 

 In recognition of the superior performance offered by our system, Aviat Aircraft now offers our Tuned Exhaust System as a factory option on all new production Huskies with the Lycoming O-360 engine.

Bolt-On Horsepower. Complete replacement of the Mooney M20 exhaust system. FAA approved by STC for use with M20 E, F, & J models with Lycoming IO-360 or IO-390 engines. Power Flow offers configurations compatible with 200 HP Mooney’s equipped with either the stock Mooney cowling (Our Gen 2 system) or the LoPresti cowling (Gen 1 system). The Gen 1 system also accommodates M20-J models equipped with electric cowl flaps. Turns out the esteemed Mr. Lo Presti was way too conservative! Although there have been a few hiccups through the years, this iconic design is STILL being produced! Many consider the 200 HP versions (including the M20-J vastly refined and improved by Mr. Lo Presti during his tenure at Mooney Aircraft into the superb “201”), to be the epitome of performance and efficiency envisioned by Al Mooney with his original M20 design from 1955. Our well-proven Tuned Exhaust System (now installed on nearly 400 Mooney’s worldwide) gives your bird the superlative performance to match its rakish good looks and impressive pedigree! Make your 200 HP M20 a faster, higher flying bird. Similar technology has been used in race cars and motorcycles for years, now it is available for your Mooney.
