For decades, MRPC has developed expertise in engineering and producing silicone components. Useful for heat resistance and rubber-like qualities, silicones are used in sealants, lubricants, adhesives and other components of long-term implantable medical devices and many other products. MRPC processes silicone materials and components in well-equipped, certified clean room environments. Silicone materials can range from HCR silicone (high-consistency silicone rubber) to LSR (liquid silicone rubber). For small to micro-molded products, we use high-precision silicone molding equipment to make parts weighing less than one gram. We also extrude silicone to produce medical tubing and profiles.

MRPC has extensive experience in thermoplastic molding of medical devices and foodservice products. Our state-of-the art thermoplastic molding equipment ranges from 20-ton to 300-ton machines, many of which are located in Class 7 and Class 8 clean room environments. We use engineered thermoplastic resins such as nylon, ULTEM™ (PEI), PEEK, PPSU, PA, PC, PCABS and others to mold a wide variety of products that comply with FDA and NSF standards. Many of our materials are high-temperature varieties that are later overmolded for two-material applications. Thermoplastics are polymers that can be reshaped through heating processes. They differ from thermoset polymers, which form chemical bonds and cannot be reshaped once cured and cooled. MRPC’s experienced team provides thermoplastic molding for medical devices and foodservice products that comply with FDA and NSF standards. In our certified clean room environments, we often use high-temperature thermoplastic materials which we then over-mold for two-material applications. MRPC can extrude a wide range of products for healthcare applications. We process many types of restricted and unrestricted silicones into thin-wall, tight-tolerance IDOD tubing and profiles. We can also extrude complex shapes and multilumen tubing, as well as incorporate wire or radiopaque materials into the tubing. We can also overmold the tubing to create a robust junction and unique product. We work closely with our raw material suppliers to provide the best material solutions for our customers requiring these specialized compounds. MRPC's small precision presses produce accurate, repeatable molded silicone and thermoplastic parts, in many cases, weighing less than one gram. These components are used for implantable electromechanical devices, catheters, ophthalmic devices, cardiac rhythm management devices, neuromodulation devices and more. We produce components with LSR, HCR Silicone, PEEK and PPSU materials in dedicated machinery designed specifically for high-precision molding processes. MRPC specializes in small- to micro-sized part molding for the medical device industry. These silicone and thermoplastic components, including those made with LSR, PEEK and combined materials, are used in products ranging from implantable neuromodulation devices to hearing aid products and ophthalmic devices. Utilizing our small precision presses, MRPC can quickly and accurately produce medical micro-molded components that are smaller and have superior intricate detail to those produced by conventional molding methods. We make repeatable micro-molded parts weighing .04g to 25g.
